Apogee Insurance Group, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway Companies, is a fast growing specialty lines insurance wholesaler focusing on providing leading edge services for Professional Liability Risks. We are looking for dynamic people to add to our sales & marketing team.

Qualifications include excellent verbal and communication skills, outgoing personality and a positive attitude with lots of energy. College degree and/or previous insurance experience a plus, but not required. We will train the right person. Some overnight travel is required. Compensation includes salary, potential year end bonus, paid medical benefits, a profit sharing program & other excellent benefits.

Position Available: Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for qualifying & marketing retail agent submissions and negotiating such submissions to a sale with one of Apogee’s insurer markets. In addition, the Account Manager oversees all customer service aspects related to business written.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Review new business applications & qualify risks.  
  2. Act as a liaison between company underwriters and retail agent customer base.
  3. Determine proper market for risks & negotiate favorable coverage terms
  4. Present insurance proposals to retail agents and solicit the sale.
  5. Establish and maintain good business relationships with retail agents.
  6. Service maintenance of existing policy base.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  1. College Degree
  2. Insurance experience (2 to 4 years)
  3. Excellent verbal & written communication
  4. Good organizational skills
  5. Detail oriented
  6. Proficient PC skills
